The difference between drone and quadcopter? A drone is an unmanned ariel device or a UAV if you like. A quadcopter is a specific type of drone that functions using four engines that allow the device to take off, hence, quadcopter.
The quadcopter design has become so popular because one function that sets a drone apart from the rest is stability, the more stable the device the better it is at capturing footage and photos. The better it is at capturing footage and photos on its high definition camera, the more likely you are to want to spend time using it, hence quad design.
A further advantage of the four engine design is the increased ability to control the device in a whole number of ways, allowing you to experiment with techniques and have some real fun. Again, the easier a drone is to fly, the more likely you are to want to spend time using it. Quadcopter’s are great for this.
Some of the most technologically and aesthetically advanced drones are in fact quadcopters. DJI’s infamous Phantom 4 is arguably the markets most luxurious and indulgent device. Finished in a seamless matte white shell, with a 3-axis gimbal camera that shoots video footage in 4K at up to 30fps… they mean business.
Quadcopters come in a range that stretches far and wide, like the imagination of drone developers, as proved by the extensive and exciting range available. Smaller devices are also available in the quadcopter market and they are equally as impressive as the larger names. Mini drones come fully fitted with big definition cameras, reach speeds of up to 18kmh and provide you a lot of entertainment. Using the mini drones also allows you, the user, to have some fun with movement and aerobatic tricks.
The larger or the mini drone, each quadcopter is equally easy to handle and hands the power of control directly to you. It’s up to you which sector you prefer to land in, why not try both.
